my weekend

This weekend I went to a dance, where I ran into a friend I hadn't seen in months. I stayed the night at her place (a very fine household of nine roommates, most of whom bicycle in preference to driving cars, keep a library that's open to the public on Sunday afternoons, run a food co-op out of the living room, and also share a piano that gets regular use in casual music making, and a cat named Beatrice), and the next day visited the farmland she's recently purchased.   After that we visited a music shop with a collection of fiddles centered around New England makers, went home, had lunch, played music, napped, and finally went to a contra dance with Tidal Wave playing and Nils Fredland calling.  I drove home, slept 8 hours, took a nap in the Spring sun, cleaned out the duck & goose boxes, and began contemplating ways I could help out on that nascent farm. Then I had a terrible headache, probably a relatively light bout of the flu, and slept for about 18 hours, after which I got up and went to work, because it was Monday morning already.
I think perhaps this chronicle would be more interesting with commentary, but it's past my bedtime. goodnight.
