Your art was not accepted for this exhibit, yet the time you spent preparing is well acknowledged

Formal excellence is an obvious condition for the art to occur. However, form devoid of content is not quite yet art, but merely a decorative object. The form must inevitably support the content. The artist must consciously decide what media and formal means will best convey his/her ideas. Hence, it is the content and its expression through physical form that may or may not constitute an art work.

From these simple and basic premises comes my approach to the work selection. What I have been looking for is technical competency, formal refinement and originality; unique and intriguing view point; understanding of how ideas and concepts can be manifested visually; adequacy of the visual form to the content implied in the work.

Ummm I thought my viewpoint was pretty unique but whatevz.
