Home, sweet home?

Whenever I think about it, I find myself bothered by the fact that we live in a country with no name. We call it United States of America...so we are some states who formed an alliance on the continent of America. My how descriptive. So who are we? Are we Americans? Sure we are...but no more than someone from Brazil or Canada. Are we the only set of states in America who are "united"? Actually no, luckily the others don't seem particularly fond of that name, so no naming conflicts so far, yay. My suggestion: lets give our country a name.

No really the stupidity of it irritates the frick out of me.
