Kisses - prompt from sunday_reveries

"Ever fallen in love..."

Next to being activated, being turned into a human was the most traumatizing event of his rather-short life. He'd suddenly been made aware of heat and cold and things like blinking and blushing and smiling. And more uncomfortable things, like clothes and erections. And how vulnerable he was. Allspark, he could be damaged by so much now, like that heat that had never bothered him before.

Seth had been kind enough to offer him a place to stay, and even the shirt off his back for a while. He recognized the look on Seth's roommate's face as pity when he agreed to let him stay. He was fairly certain that the blonde regretted it later. Especially when he was investigating the stove. Though he managed to not cry - barely. "Will... will you not tell Seth? Please do not," he'd murmured to the roommate, whose name was Ash. The fleshie sighed quietly and nodded, rubbing some kind of ointment on his burned fingers. Everything was okay by the time Seth got back.

He spent as much time with Seth as he could. It was usually only a few hours, but he appreciated it nevertheless. Even if sometimes he could feel his face get hot when he talked to Seth. Or about him to Ash, which didn't happen very often. Only in the middle of the night, when he couldn't sleep and Ash was home. It was only ever brought up once. "You're turning kinda red, Dennis," Ash had said, furrowing his brow. "Is everything all right?" He quickly muttered some lame excuse that he was sure Ash didn't buy, but the blonde let it go and scoot over to let him lay in bed while he talked. He woke up on the couch the next morning, a blanket carefully tucked around him. Ash never said anything about it.

He'd liked Seth from the start. He was the first human that he'd ever talked to, and he was nice. He wasn't at all scary, like the ones in Sector Seven uniforms. And he thought Dispensor was cool, even if he turned into a vending machine and not something awesome like a car or a plane. But what had made him kiss Seth on the couch, his face getting hotter than it ever had before, he didn't know. He knew this couldn't end well. When he got back to normal, all big and metal, everything would change. They couldn't sleep together, not really. Not like that. They wouldn't be able to kiss anymore. He wouldn't be able to stay over at Seth's house anymore - he was over nine feet tall and much heavier than any normal vending machine.

But he kissed him anyway. Because he liked-liked Seth and wanted him to know and wanted to know if Seth felt the same. And he did, so... so maybe they could make it work. Even if they wouldn't be able to kiss again when Dennis became Dispensor again.
