Horribly Logical Things

I'm new and loving the fics I've seen so far so I thought I'd put in my bit here, and hopefully there will be more in the future(with, y'know, more content than this wee drabble)

Title: Horribly Logical Things
author: doomthatimpends
Rating: G
Pairing: Mick/Josef
Genre: Drama
Summary: A Short little drabble inspired by the comment Josef made about new things at the end of "The Ringer"
Just trying to get in Josef's head.

I told him to kill his human girl again tonight. He shrugs it off as if it’s not even a valid option, and I suppose for him, it isn’t. It’s amusing how he clings so closely to this human world. I live in it, he lives it.

So I suggest things that I would do, solutions to problems so simple from my point of view, knowing he’ll ignore them. I do it anyway and it always makes me smile, that bittersweet smile, and I love him just a bit more because I know it can’t last. When you live forever that’s something you learn. Nothing lasts. Not idealism, not innocence, not love, not true beauty. I learned early on to appreciate the brief novelties, to love such an oddity of a Vampire P.I. in love with a Freshy and his dedication to truth, justice, and all that other human crap.

And so, I suggest the unthinkable so that he can ignore it, knowing that one day in the future he’ll be so tired of the whole thing he might just consider my suggestion and that will be the day I move on to someone newer, more interesting. That’ll be the day I fall out of love with him.

Until then, though, I’ll keep telling him to do horribly logical things and I’ll keep smiling when he ignores me. He’s cute when he pretends he’s human.
