Facebook eats time for breakfast.
I have determined that this morning.
In other news, the Kinetic Grand Championship is also a time-eater. But in a good way. This year, I am a site leader for the brand spankin' new event--a beer garden in Halvorson Park at the end of Day One of the race (Saturday, May 23rd). A beer garden with a stage and a circus show and a couple of bands and a kid area from The Discovery Museum and camping for the racers and volunteers.
OMG. What am I doing?
The funny thing is that when I do thing that I say I am going to do, the board members go nuts. It's weird. I do stuff, and get a lot of praise... totally not the way I am used to working! When I was TDing at the community theatre, I would get a thank you from the directors and the artistic director, and sometime compliments from some of the cast when the show went up, or when the show was over, but all this praise? I don't have any idea what to do with it. You have to be careful how to praise techies--they aren't used to lots and lots of it! I am perfectly happy not getting lots of recognition. I just want people to not have to think about my job--if the pubic is thinking about what I am doing, then I haven't done my job right.
The baby is more and more active--or at least I can feel how active the baby is now. It's really hard to carry on a conversation when the baby starts wriggling and kicking in the middle of it. I'll be talking and then trail off in the middle of a sentance--no I am not on drugs, there is just a small alien rearranging my insides. Mildly distracting.
Well, that seems like a good update. Now to go catch a bus.
