Recently they gave us this attendance policy to read. We even had to sign it saying that we had read it. I said that if you no call no show two days in a row they will have assumed you quit. It also says that if you are late for work 7 (!) times that you will get fired. That means, if they actually own up to it, half the deli will be fired in a week. So it is a big lie! It's not even worth wasting the paper. And I know some people have figured out a way around that. Just "forget" to punch in. Then they won't know that you were late. I would love for these jerks to be fired or get some kind of warning or at least be told to make an effort to show up on time. It would be great if they didn't always get away with everything!
