Hello Everyone and God Bless Us, Everyone.
Just finished my last tradition of the Christmas season. No, it wasn't opening the presents, or the mulled cider or the companionship of friends and family (truth be told, my lovely wife and I decided this year to spend the holiday alone with one another, watching 'A Christmas Story' and then off to the Happy Buffet for a Christmas Chinese dinner!
No, my final act of the Christmas Day, as it has been for three years now, was to download and watch the Doctor Who Christmas show. While I am saddened to hear that this is the final season for David Tennant, and I confess that the Children in Need mini-sode left me feeling gipped, this episode made up for quite all of it. It is a full hour long, RTD out-did himself, as he always does, and I never knew who was doing what. My take on it is superlative. I will say no more of it; if anyone would like to have a showing of this episode, and perhaps some others, let me know and we can do something. I hope.
Of course, another aspect of the yuletide season is one of reflection. The one's we knew and loved who have left us to cross the Vale of Dreams, the friends we lost contact with, some hopelessly forever, the good times and bad, but best of all, our friends and the times we have with them. So many people that I have come to know, and I think of them daily to keep their memory bright. I think of them, and basically, all of you guys, and think that no matter how bad things may seem, just knowing that you are out there in the realm makes things better. To you whom I have not been able to come and see or do stuff with, I'm terribly sorry, and promise to make amends somehow (if you feel you're in this group, feel free to submit helpful suggestions. I am not beneath subtle hints and hard work!). And to you whom I have been able to catch up with, thanks for helping me stay sane and keep my big ol' feet on the ground. (Ah, err, well, if you need help, you know where I am most of the time too!)
In any case, you all take care, thanks for being my friends, and my hopes for you all for a joyous season and a happy new year to us all. Now, go get out there and have fun already.....
