Intro Post
Welcome to doomfans, a new community for fans of Marvel's Doctor Doom!
I'm nomadicwriter, your host and mod. I came into Marvel comics fandom via the first Iron Man movie, and immediately fell for Doctor Doom after reading the classic Doom-Iron Man team-up in Incredible Iron Man #150. That inspired me to pick up my local library's copy of Books of Doom, and from there on I've been chasing his appearances all over the history of the Marvel U. (Or as much of it as a low budget and a library with a surprisingly good trade collection can provide.)
Since Doom pops up in so many different corners of the Marvel universe there's no one central place to share the fannish love, so I created this community as somewhere I can ramble about his appearances in various different comics without hijacking other comms.
Doom-related fanfic, fanart, icons, meta, and discussion of all kinds are welcome, or feel free to just introduce yourself and share the Doctor Doom love! Unlike Doom, I have no desire to rule with an iron fist, so the posting rules are few and simple:
Rules
1. Adult or non-worksafe content should go behind an lj-cut, and be clearly marked as such.
2. Images of larger than 300x300 and batches of more than 4 icons should go behind a cut.
3. A spoiler cut is required if you're posting about comics published in the last three months. Beyond that, use your judgement, and remember that it's never bad to err on the side of caution. The fact that Doctor Doom appears in a given issue is not considered a spoiler on this comm.
4. You can post Doom-related scans here, but please don't include more than two or three pages from any single issue. Do not provide, ask for, or tell people how to find pirated copies of whole comics.
5. Keep it friendly. It's fine to criticize writers, artists and storylines you don't like, or defend the ones that you do; please don't attack other people for holding a different opinion.
