The art was really gorgeous! And I appreciated the little touch of having Doom pologise for not bringing the Molecule Man anything to it. What glimpses of worldbuilding we had were very interesting, although I wonder if Val is being literal when she refers to Doom as her father?

It's interesting - it's sort of vaguely implied that Sue is either Doom's wife or his consort simply from the fact she's his close confidante, but I don't think there's anything to explicitly confirm their relationship, and it's not clear if he's adopted her kids or just rewritten things to make them 'biologically' his. Presumably they were their canon ages (3-4 for Valeria and any random number between 7 and 12 for Franklin) when he called the world into existence eight years ago, so they were never actually 'born' in this world, just existed from the start. Sue doesn't remember Reed, so maybe she and the kids think Doom is their actual father, or maybe they're just aware that he's God and made them exist with no bio-father needed and therefore is technically 'Dad' regardless.

The cast page give Sue as "Susan Storm, Royal Consort". Speaking of ages, is it me or do Val and Franklyn look the same age in this? I wish we knew more about all the relationships in this.

Good catch with the cast page! I don't tend to pay much attention to that, though I probably should, since Hickman tends to slip important information into all the various title pages and diagrams and such.

I'm assuming since eight years have passed in the AU that Valeria is probably 11-12 and Franklin maybe 15-18, which I guess makes for a less visible age gap than when Val was still a toddler, but there's really no telling with comic book kids. Still, I am kinda hoping they stay this sort of age after Secret Wars is over, because 4-year-old Valeria was really starting to get a bit silly.

And yeah, there's a lot that's just implied rather than filled in. I'm not following any of the other tie-in books so I don't know how much detail they flesh out, but I assume most of the Doom and F4-related stuff is in the main miniseries.

Tbh, I've been having this theory for a while now that the reason Franklin doesn't age is because he's warping the universe so that he doesn't, but idk how much basis that has in reality or how Battle World might change things.

I really really hope they keep Val at least as a pre-teen, because her being four was ridiculous. (Four years old don't have the manual dexterity to build lightsabers. They just don't.)

I've been vaguely following a few of the tie-ins and so far the only Doom/F4 I've seen is in the main book (boo).
