Man, I love knowing that the good guys are ALWAYS going to win, even when it makes no fucking sense.
So. I was sitting here colouring an evil-looking Bulbasaur (BULBASAUR! NOT BULBASAUCE! GDIT, TYPING FINGERS) with oil pastels, and this popped into my head.
You know when you're watching a show, and the Main Character are facing off against the Villain, and the Villain happens to be a soul/energy/life-force sucking creature of evil, and you go "Oh for God's sake, just let it suck out all your energy - we ALL know it'll be too much for it, and it'll like, explode." and that's EXACTLY what happens?
That sort of stuff happens all the time in movies and TV shows and books and whatever. "I bet they're going to be long-lost twins," or "dude, he's so going to be that baby prince they all thought was dead," or "wow this would be a really good time for that seemingly-helpless guy to find out he has awesome powers and save the day".
What's your favourite of those cliches? Mine's totally the energy thing.
