Playing Flora gave me blisters today T_T both on my right hand, the index finger and the middle finger.
The new bass player's dad has played bass, both stand up and electric, for 30 years and he's giving me tips on positioning and how to take care of the blisters so I can still play tomorrow. and yeah both blisters popped a little while ago so tomorrow morning I get to dig through the marching supplies to find the finger tape. *rolls eyes* >:S yeah. and it kind of feels like the tips of my two fingers have been ripped off because, oh yeah, they were. oooowwwww D= but that doesn't mean I love Flora any less. Today I brought an old towel to workshop so I could dust her off >:3 she's so pretty. and red. very pretty, shiny, glossy, omnomnom delicious red. and she sang for me again today when I played some notes with the bow. *teary eyed* ;_; also on the injury front, holding the weight of the giant 6ft sumthin' string bass has caused me to have a light bruise from my hip to mid thigh where the bulk of its weight rests. *is tearing hair out* Grawr!! @_@ such a beautiful instrument with so much potential for harm! maybe that's why I like it.....yup that's me livin' on the bandee wild side. If this percussion thing sticks to me, please beat me over the head before I try to march with drums. because I'm tiny and have no arm strength and I would probably die. >.>
