Look at me posting things!
So here is what goes on.
Right now I am teaching physics at Tufts. It's the intro mechanics class (with calculus, thank Gauss). Tufts does two summer sessions, and I taught the same course in the first 5 1/2 weeks of summer too. Yay lots of teaching. It is fun times. We had super bimodal grade curve first session - much C and A. Impressive folks though, very pleased with the kiddies. We'll see how this batch does!
In general the teaching is quite pleasing. Fall should come lots of job appy times. I think I will look at a lot of primarily teaching positions. There aren't too many that aren't dead end adjuncty ones though, which is most unfortunate. The state of the industry is not the most promising, but it is what it is. The research is also going well. The summer classes are on intense time consuming schedules, but this time it's the third time through this syllabus, so prep time is cut down drastically. Not only do I actually know the stuff, I even know what I want to say!
Other bits of news are not so new. Heat has me feeling lethargic. I walk around a bit. Maybe dance around a little. Pretend to be a wizard from time to time.
Did the 5 year reunion thing a few weeks back. Good times, good times indeed. We had great attendance, because the 06s are the best. Much high fives and so on. I could probably talk a lot about this, but it is mostly of interest to the people who were there. Maybe some of them will also exist at homecoming. There are hopes!
So, what else is on the mind of folks? Lookin for posts?
