Attitude shift
Praise God for a new day!! I am so thankful that the Lord gives us a new day and that we don't have to carry things over from day to day.
Yesterday I didn't sit down and spend any like quality time with the Lord and that totally added to my bad attitude and crazy emotions. With any believer when you don't spend time with the Lord it affects you. I used to could go for like a month or a few weeks before it would hit me but now it's like one day. And that's a good thing. I don't think we should be able to coast along and not spend time with our Creator. So today I was thinking about how this refining or stretching or whatever you want to call it, this season of life, is hard and part of me just wants it to be over and wonders why other people aren't "suffering" like I am. But I'm forgetting the blessing and what this all means. God loves me. I'm not being punished I'm being transformed to be more like my Saviour. God is pursuing me b/c He's not satisfied with me being complacent in Him. He shows me all the time how He knows me and wants to share His goodness with me. Sometimes it's the nights that I can actually see the stars, or a really cool cloud formation, or the breeze that comes along at just the right moment, or a small child laughing, friends that listen to me talk about my struggles and point outt how they see Christ in me, or people who genuinely want to know about my passion for Russia, or leave me a message on the facebook or here. The list could go on and on.
So, I"ve definitely had a much needed attitude change and perspective change, yet again. =)
I read over the psalm of praise that I wrote and honestly I almost cried, not b/c it's fantastic or anything but b/c it's the reflection of my heart, althought it hasn't been the reflection of my heart for the past couple of days and that really grieved me. So I"m going to make myself a little vulnerable here and share my psalm of praise. =)
Praise the Lord!
All people give praise to Him!!
For He gives to us life and breath;
All we need is found in Him
Sing Praise to the Lord!
For His love is an overflowing fountain
His peace is a river that never ends
His mercy is waterfall that continues to flow
Hallelujah to the Lord!
In God alone there is abundant joy
Not found in people
Not in riches
Not in fame.
Give praise to the Father!
Give praise to the Son!
Give praise to the Spirit!
Give praise to our God, three in one and one in three
Apart from Him there is no life.
Praise our God who has no end;
All people praise His holy name!
