Shizuo was still working with Tom, he wasn’t sure what happened to Aoba, the van gang had lost and gained some members since Karisawa and Yumasaki had eloped to Britain for some strange reason with a duo of flamboyant thieves, Seiji and Mika were married though the union was an odd and dark one, the twins were still… well, conquering the world, and Izaya…
Izaya hadn’t been seen in more than a year.
Not that he cared, but it was worth mentioning from time to time. Shizuo couldn’t be happier, or less homicidal.
But there was one person he had forgotten to think about on a daily basis, unlike the other people that he was constantly reminded of because of the large amount of people in Ikebukuro, and how often he was mentioned.
Kida Masaomi, his best friend all through grade school and for some of high school, was still missing. No one had seen him. For years he’d been asking, hoping for this “Byakura” to maybe give him a clue as to where he was exactly, but he’d never received it. And one day, Byakura stopped messaging. It might have been a completely random date, it could have meant nothing at all since all of the chat members he’d become close with had gone their separate ways eventually, but it also could have had something to do with the headlines in the paper he had seen in his eighteenth year.

Of course, even that was a hunch. He wasn’t sure why exactly Izaya had felt like mentioning it, after all. It could have just been another one of his plans to shake up all of Tokyo again. After all his tried and failed plans, he had to have given up by now.

YEAH every bit of my DRRR!! fic is either depressing or crackish. OTL THERE IS NO MIDDLE-GROUND.
