It's my Mum's 50th birthday today. Jerry and I had planned to travel to Folkestone to spend the evening with her, but she caught wind of this last week and forbade it. It's 5am and I'm really tired and should be in bed but I've been reading blogs I haven't read in a while and several of your last few posts struck a chord. Yea we can do anything we want if we prepare, work hard and believe we can do it and it's not just MMA related. Films and good TV series taught me that. We can always get by with less money than we think (I remember watering down campbells soup [only half a tin] and pouring over a handful of spaghetti because it was the last food I had left and could afford in Newcombe Road). Oh and being good with money doesn't make you a good person or come naturally - it just means that at some point in your life you've had to come to terms with being terrible with money and swore that things will be better in the future. I need to go to bed but I'm going to leave you with the words your MMA idol should have said...

On March 3, 1969 the United States Navy established an elite school for the top one percent of its pilots. Its purpose was to teach the lost art of aerial combat and to insure that the handful of men who graduated were the best fighter pilots in the world. They succeeded. Today, the Navy calls it Fighter Weapons School. The flyers call it: TOP GUN.
