fact 1 - i finished my dissertation. unfortunately i made a mistake in the footnoting, which i noticed after it had been bound. that discovery tarnished the whole experience of finishing the dissertation.
fact 2 - i went to the reading festival, it was really good fun. i spent most of the weekend thinking of phrases to describe things in my livejournal but never got around to writing it up (and i've forgotten them all now). i really enjoyed reel big fish, metric, gogol bordello, the streets, broken social scene, feeder and the king blues. probably some more, as well.
fact 3 - pete was given a last-minute funding deal by the university. we rejoiced.
fact 4 - i am currently homeless, or near to it. i sleep on the living room floor of my mum's flat. i have now removed everything from gainsborough close, and have probably seen it for the last time (i've given up my key and everything). my stuff is spread across about three locations, as we're currently unable to find a three-bedroom house/flat to let in central leamington between £500 and 900 rent per month. this is bad because term starts in two weeks.
fact 5 - over the past three weeks, i've watched a lot more wrestling than you.
fact 6 - i haven't done any stand-up gigs since july, but have been booking a lot and have a busy-ish scheldule in october and november which should see me actually remember how to do stand-up and write some new stuff. the 'big one' is a gig which i've been given at the bottle rocket in leicester as the open spot on a bill that also features richard herring, lloyd langford and jon richardson (oh. my. god.)
fact 7 - the reckless moment returns on monday october 9th for the 'don't call it a comeback' comeback tour. the first 'don't call it a comeback' comeback show features: howard read (perrier award nominee! gosh!), gary delaney, caimh mcdonnell, okse, owen niblock, pete the meat and me. we have a really fun list of headliners that includes james sherwood, martin plant, sarah millican, isy suttie, andrew o'neill, lee bannard and lloyd langford.
fact 8 - josie long won the non-descript best newcomer comedy award this summer in edinburgh. this officially makes her a hero. in an attempt to reflect some glory onto myself, i've been going on about how good she is for about 2 years now and so officially have an eye for the 'next big thing'.
fact 9 - i'm currently reading 'the portrait of a lady' by henry james. the last films i watched were 'lower city' (excellent) and 'match point' (my future wife was the best thing about this) yesterday. i'm currently listening to 'let it out' by metric, 'time out' by the dave brubeck quarter and 'gypsy punks' by gogol bordello.
fact 10 - i really wanted to have 10 facts, to give it the prestige of such lists as the 'music singles top 10' and 'uk box office top 10'. n.b. these facts are not in any order. apart from this one, which is not a real fact.
