Why I'm not a Mac person

I've tried to explain this to many Mac people, but the link I found today expalining the svchost.exe functions in your Windows task manager shows what I like about PC systems -

Windows gives you direct access to what your computer is doing, and PC give you icons to click. I understand the appeal of simple interface and the great design, but I like to be able to get into the system if I need to. Apple doesn't really open up the same way as what you see in the link.

I've been thinking about getting into a Linux-based system because it seems like it would be even more functional than Windows, with more access to your OS and program functions. Is anyone running Linux?
