Summary: The huli-jing of the Yiling Wei sect have always stood out as neither being on the side of the law or against it. However everything changed with the murder of their leader. Now, with a usurper sitting upon the Spider Lily throne, Wei Wuxian fights to reclaim his birthright and set his clan back on the right course. No one will stop him. Not even Lan Wangji, the finest dragon on the force and the only man to ever come close to catching him. (Okay, so this a long one, but it's great! There's tons of world building for how cultivation still exists in the modern world and how those who are fully humans and those who aren't work together. The Mystery is well plotted and despite the length the fic never seemed to drag. If you have the time, it's well work a read.)

Summary for first in series: Little Apple is a good donkey. She knows this in her heart. And to be a good donkey, you have to eat apples, run fast, and kick people. (adorable and hilarious Little Apple POV fics)

Summary: Cast out of the Cloud Recesses in secrecy following Qingheng-Jun’s death, the woman who was once Madam Lan makes her way across the lands as she mourns the loss of her sons. In Yiling she finds a small child, himself missing his parents. Can Liu Meihui help little Wei Ying when she can’t even help herself? (a take on non-jiang!WWX I haven't seen before)

I think am FINALLY almost done with my Yuletide assignment, the latest ever in the however many years I've been doing YT other than that time assignments went out on Nov 21st. Sigh. I'd blame this awful flu that I just can't seem to shake but it's really more due to a horrible case of writer's block. SIGH. At least I won't have to default and maybe I'll manage a treat or two even.
Anyway, I love the video of the scientists who discovered the black-naped pheasant pigeon (a critically endangered bird that hadn't been seen for 140 years) in Papua New Guinea earlier this year (link to article about the discovery, some photos and also the video on this tumblr post), hopefully you all will as well. :)
