Summary: Zhao Yunlan is stuck in a time loop. Shen Wei is stuck on the outside. (Really fascinating timeloop fic since it begins with the POV of someone not experiencing it)

Dreams of Red by fuddy_duddy (rainier_day) (16.5k)
Summary: Lan Wangji is sent to Yiling Forest to hunt down a dangerous beast. He never expected it to be the beautiful phoenix that once fought so fiercely to defend the Lotus Pier. (absolutely IC and beautifully touching mythical beasts AU)
here's to upright men by isozyme (8.5k)
Summary: It had been shaping up to be a really lovely party, and honestly, quite a nice cultivation conference in general. Instead, his last surviving brother was exchanging polite bows with Jin Rulan, and Nie Huaisang was going to spend four days on edge. (very interesting NHS POV of he and LXC meeting for the first time postcanon)

Summary: It got a little lonely being the only witch on a mountain, sometimes. Wei Ying liked it! He liked helping the villagers with their problems. But no one else had ever shown any interest in living up here. Not this far up the mountain, where the forest shifted and moved when it got restless. Not here, where strange flowers bloomed that were pollinated by even stranger bees, the kind that looked like they might not have been bees at all. Not here, where you could feel the magic in your bones, even if you didn’t have an affinity for it.
And then one morning, he woke up and found that he was not the only witch on the mountain. There was another one, and his name was Lan Zhan. (Amazing and really interesting witch + soulmates AU with tons of great worldbuilding)

Summary Snippet for first fic: Several months ago, college student Wei Wuxian secretly competed in the most popular reality show in the country. The show starts airing in the fall. The freshmen in his dorm collectively lose their minds. (GBBO modern AU, absolutely hilarious)

here comes your ghost again by yuer (vintageblueskies) (4k)
Summary: He stitches a tiny row of suns along the left cuff of his inner robe-not flames, never flames, not after Lotus Pier burned, not after Wen Qing burned-suns, life-giving and scorching, for the last, best doctor of Qishan Wen. She would probably laugh at his badly sewn suns and his sentimentality, but her eyes would be soft. Some days, he misses her so much he thinks it might swallow him whole. (beautifully melancholic WWX remembering WQ fic)

Craft-wise, I recently crocheted a bunch of cat toys but it'd be silly to post pics of those. I'm still debating what larger(ish) project to start. Vaguely considering another shawl or blanket even though I don't need one. I also haven't done any more rug work. There really is a limit to how many rugs you can have in a house, especially considering the size constraints due to making from sheets or tshirts (regarding color matching, I mean).
I started reading the novel Guardian (by Priest, what the Cdrama of the same name is based on) and so far it's been really interesting to see the similarities vs differences. (It's also interesting that both suffer from the same SW-sees-ZYL-for-1st-time plothole I mentioned in my review of the show)
I also watched Douluo Continent (40 32minish ep Cdrama) which starred Xiao Zhan (WWX on The Untamed). It's fantasy/powers but not cultivation setting with a lot of good worldbuilding. It's based off a donghua and ended in a place that, while was an ending, would work well if it got a sequel/second season. I enjoyed it.
Debating what to watch next. I might give either of the two Untamed "movies" a go or maybe the currently airing Word of Honor or, you know, tackle the To Watch list I've been adding to for years now based on various recs from places...
