"I miss you fiercely, old chap," I inform the headstone. Foolishly, I suppose, but I've not anyone else to take my confession so it will have to suffice. "Your decision to save my life at the cost of your own was not one of your more prudent ones, but even I must admit it was true to your heart and as that was what made you the man you were… the man I….. Well, I've not the right to complain."
As I pay my respects my eyes begin to water, no doubt due to the wind being particularly fierce today.
