Revised Trigun canon timeline

Sep 12, 2008 00:10

Overall notes: This schedule works under the assumption the viruses occur every three weeks or so. Because of DDD-based plots we're going to want to do and things like that it's completely superfluous. If any other member of the cast wants a date changed to accommodate something, message me, let me know, and I'll change it up for you.

Hey there Vash-mun, I've got a question for you. I was thinking about applying for post-manga-ending Knives, but wasn't sure if you (or Meryl and Milly-mun, for that matter) had read that far, and I don't want to spoil such a good ending for any of you. If you guys haven't, I can try pulling Knives from somewhere earlier in the mangaverse, since he's pretty much just as fun crazy as not. (My only issue is that crazy!Knives would likely stick to interacting with the non-humans, but I could work with that with some practice.)

(And as a somewhat-relevant side note, I know some damned good Trigun fanfiction if you're interested.)

Setting up a Kyon account for a private RP. You understand, right? resident_snark September 16 2008, 06:37:43 UTC
Hello!

I haven't finished reading the comics due to a lack of funds and where I was reading the translation taking them down. I do know what happens in the end and I could contact Milly-mun and Meryl-mun about it since we're also doing anime specific (because I'm a dork and wanted to stick to anime continuity since I'm more familiar with it).

That said, KNIVES! PLZ!!! I WOULD LOVE YOU FOREVER NO MATTER WHERE YOU DREW HIM FROM!!!

(OMG! PLEASE!!!)

Totally do. soldierpride September 16 2008, 07:02:45 UTC
Maximum7.net has the last two books up here, but I totally understand the lack of funds thing. (Me, I go to the comic book store and read them in the corner. 8D I BUY THEM WHEN I HAVE THE MONEY I SWEAR.) And aha, I think I'm the only person who's read the manga and not seen the anime, so that's the 'verse I draw from. It should make the game a little easier, too, since it'll make any discrepancy in their timelines easier to deal with if Knives isn't quite in the same continuity (that way "Vash's" Knives can continue being as canonly crazy as he needs to be).

lakshfasf Ahahaha, okay, okay! XD Let me know when you get a hold of them, please?

And here:
Fics by vargrimar
Also drabbles part one, part two, and part three
After The Fall (and a cute little prequel to it here and a hilarious interlude for between chapters 3 and 4 here)
Not Quite Worthless
A Whisper In The Darkness (NSFW)
Daily Special (also NSFW)
Forever Mine (not the best thing I've ever read, but it isn't bad, and there's actually some interesting theory regarding plant offspring)

lsdhglskf -LOOOOVE-

I'm too well known at our bookstore that the clerks know to keep an eye on me. LOL! And that's okay about not knowing the anime. Honestly from what I've seen the major divergence comes after where I cut off the canon timeline. If Milly-mun and Meryl-mun are up on the manga I can suggest shifting over to the manga continuity after we hit the cutoff.

I am writing an e-mail to both of them as I type!

Anyway, my name's Christina, or Random, or Vashdonna. Pick one. What do you prefer to be called?

That being Fifth Moon, amirite?

Yay!

Vashdonna, ahahaha. XD I'm Kendra, or Zack, or Halfling Rogue, or any variation thereof. I also played on the comm before, so some people might call me Alize in chat.

A little after. The bit with Eriks/Alex and the floating city happens in the anime, too.

I blame the chat! When I was applying for Donna we were making jokes about the Doctor-Donna and it got mutated into the Vashdonna. It's to the point I'm tempted to change my AIM name to it which would be easier on some people as I have my current AIM set so only people on my buddylist can IM me.

Nice to meet you Kendra. :^)

Gotcha.

Ahhh, you're Donna? My sister was fangirling over you when you showed up. XD She plays the Angels. And yeah, having an AIM just for RPing can be handy. Mine's always been open and I haven't changed it for almost four years, so it doesn't bother me much. I'm MonkeyandMage.

Same here!

F-F-Fangirling?! I had someone fangirling over me? As flattering as that is, it's kind of creepy. The reason my current AIM is blocked is because of a mess with a stalker about six months ago who kept changing her screennames. I've been paranoid about who can reach me through IM services ever since then, but I guess an RP-specific AIM can't hurt.

Added you to my AIM buddylist. I'll probably message you sometime later/tomorrow because it's 3:30 AM out here and if I start IMing people I'm going to wind up staying up all night.

Well, "fangirling" in the sense of "YES WE HAVE A DONNA AND SHE'S A REALLY GOOD PLAYER YES". She was somewhat disappointed by a Rose we had on here some time back. We also both agree that you're a really good Vash (and spent some time making comparisons between him and the Doctor. And noting that they have a damn lot in common, canonly speaking).

And ack, stalkers are certainly not cool. Luckily I am just mediocre/standoffish enough to avoid that fate. |D

Awesome! Ha, I was just wondering whether you were in my time zone or not. I'm PST, so I'm usually on later than most people, unfortunately. I'll look forward to your messaging~

Ummm... Considering I started RPing--at all--last month? That's a really good compliment. Thank you. (And I'm not the only one who does those comparisons! YEEEES!)

Well, this was someone I went to high school with and lived near. She admitted herself for psychiatric evaluation and care in June so as long as she isn't resistant to treatment she should be fine. I've just been left a little shaken by the whole thing.

EST for me! Now I'm going to bed. I'll message you tomorrow/later. Bye Kendra!

I've noticed over the years that the newer RPers actually tend to be some of the best. So are most people who dare to play Vash, so you've got double points going for you there. XD (I also noted a hell of a lot of similarities between Vash and this version of Zack I'm playing over at Template, which made me awww that I can't bring him into DDD and have them be friends. Oh well. Sephiroth = Knives.)

Ohh, so she was actually physically near to you. That must have been rattling.

G'night!

Really? That's weird. You'd think it'd be the older ones, but that's probably because the newer ones haven't started writing out all the tropes yet, right? (Yes, I saw a lot of similarities, too. And it kind of too bad Haruhi got her hands on Zack first. |^D)

It was! I'd go into further details but a). I don't know you very well and b). I'm getting uncomfortable talking about it.

And g'morning!

Yay Kate Beaton! halfling_rogue September 17 2008, 00:10:07 UTC
Probably! I know it's certainly a problem I've has as an old player, but it's not true for everyone, so. (Well, technically, she didn't. XD; I was playing Zack here first, and I left, and she was playing him over at Template for a while and decided to give him a shot over here. She's better at him than I am most of the time, anyway.)

Nah, no worries, perfectly understandable. SO HOW 'BOUT THEM POLITICS?

And how are you this fine morning afternoon evening crapIknewIshouldhavegotup day?

Or it could just be the older players are already set in their ways and the ewer players bring new twists to characters? (Ooooh... Okay!)

Ummm... McCain went and gutted a moose after the last convention?

I am well, how about you? :^D

halfling_rogue September 17 2008, 02:20:11 UTC
That too. Another part of it is once you've played for so long everything you do starts to feel like a rehash and you start questioning your abilities. It's hard to keep the characters fresh a lot of the time.

. . . . Seriously?

I AM TALKING TO YOU ON AIM, EVIDENTLY. Or was. G'night again!
