It feels like it should be time to leave for the holidays already. I can not even believe how this year is dragging on. It's boring, and I'd like to go home

I wasn't speaking of myself. I have my Father and sister to return home to. Other people aren't so fortunate and their circumstances really shouldn't be trivialized so.
(ooc: Ironically Elphie comes from a rich politician's family..lol She and her Father just don't get along. Elphaba's Father is a kind of governor..think he and Lili's father would know each other?)

My father and I don't get along very well. The only reason I'm going back at all is to see my younger sister.

Seeing as how most of the hatred comes from him and his own personal prejudices...no.

The point is that you should at least try to get along.

As long as we don't spend an excess amount of time together we get along fine.
I usually spend summers and holidays outside or in the library or with my sister. Father's usually busy with work anyways so we don't really have to see one another much.

Mine is also busy very often, but he still makes time.

Your father probably actually wants to make time and genuinely cares about you. Mine doesn't and that's that.
