almost a month!

It's almost been a month since I've updated. All I can say is that there is so much that's happened in the last 3 weeks. I love germany. Its absolutely fabulous and alive, but there are definitely obviously things I miss about the states. one would be breakfast food in general (there are wonderful chocolate croissants and donuts yes...) but there's no breakfast food! today me and maya bought some eggs and bread and made some FREEEEUNCH TOAST. it was so delicious. there is absolutely no mexican food here (ive heard of one really horrendous place but im not testing it!) lets just face it germans can't do mexican. it will never work. despite that, apparently there is an all mexican supermarket here with tortillas and the sort (there are no tortillas at grocery stores, and grocery stores are not grocery stores, they're very small). A lot more people smoke in general here, but thats just how europe rolls. cologne is an easy city to get around and lots of bands come here etc. the yeah yeah yeahs are coming for example, and i may go see them, BUT my language school is offering a trip to paris the same weekend so im pretty sure I'll hit that up first.

This weekend Im going to salzburg austria with maya and two other girls in the program...it's gonna be BOMB. watch out julie andrews (for those who dont know, salzburg is where the sound of music was filmed).

Everything is so surreal. I definitely went through a mild culture shock for a few days, but thats expected...I am definitely more comfortable with my situation now and my routine (even though I hate using that word). I live with a japanese lady she's awesome, we like the same music and we watch movies together. she is currently in tokyo until the 29th though, so Im playing adult these next few weeks, i kinda like it. Im not used to being alone, so this will definitely teach me a thing or to...and that's what im hoping to get out of this the most. I live literally a minute away from the rhine river...it's a block over and I've gone jogging on it a few times ...its so amazzzing! Ice cream here is twenty times better (and cheaper) as is the beer. BUT water is extremely expensive, and everyone looks at you funny when you ask for regular tap water instead of mineral water.

I went to Bonn yesterday and saw the guggenheim exhibit which was AMAZING. loved it. so Im slowly getting around to different places. I love germany, but I miss you america so much! this is going to be the best experience ever.

German is much more difficult than I expected, but evenso I'm learning so much everyday just being here and hearing the language in class. I am learning so much about myself and Im so excited to see what the rest of this will bring. I find out on thursday where my permanent city is going to be (hopefully frankfurt!) but im not sure yet.

I LOVE you all, and will post pictures when I get a good bunch together. if you want go to myspace and look I posted a couple. i love you tucson. i love you.
