NMU?

I know that Sam mentioned it in her journal, but she didn't stress how weird the situation was. I swear it couldn't have just been that strange to me.

Picture this: I'm sitting in my first class ever at Northern, which happens to be History of Western Civilization Until 1600. Ryan Buck is next to me, and random people keep filing in slowly. Prof Keith Kendall (a.k.a. the history version of Tim Clancy) is at the front of the classroom, mumbling to himself while he tries to plug in his laptop. And then it all happens at once. Joyce and Jen Carriere walk in, and "We Didn't Start the Fire" by Billy Joel starts playing, while Kendall starts wandering around the room. Oh and everyone is dead silent. I thought I was caught on candid camera, wtf.

The rest of my day went fine. German is going to be hard, but fun because Becca, Andrea, and Prof Strauss are all crazy (in a good way), and Prof Lubotina (the U.S. Since 1865) is like, "This class is easy. If you don't open your book, you'll get a B, if you read your book along with the notes in class, you'll get an A. We're going to watch Easy Rider, Dr. Strangelove, and Birth of a Nation." Oh, and my EN211A class sounds like it'll be a joke. Nabeela Sheikh is 25, Canadian, and is teaching us like we've never taken English. We start every class with a 15 minute freewrite, and every class someone new presents a poem they like and then we discuss it. Today we interviewed someone, and next class we'll all present information about the person we interviewed, so we can all get to know each other better. Oh how fun!

P.S. Don't go to the Fieldhouse in Hedgecock, it'll take them a half hour to make you a fucking roast beef samich.

P.P.S. I miss all of the teachers at I.H.S. :(
