[ Junpei turns on the camera, grins at it when he realizes it's come on, then tilts it up to show the newest member of his team--the biggest, angriest-looking pidgey you ever did see. It obvious hates everything and everyone, and is currently sitting on Junpei's cap, looking hideously pissed off. ]
So, I told myself I wouldn't catch a pidgey, 'cause pidgeys are pretty lame--ah! Look, I'm sorry, okay, it's just the truth--freakin' ow!
[ Yes, he did just get violently pecked. Twice. ]
But this one put up a really good fight.
[ The pidgey appears ready to peck him again--but settles. Harrumph. There's the sound of Junpei snapping his fingers, having apparently had an epiphany. ]
I'm totally gonna call him Captain Tsubasa! What do you think?
[ Tsubasa squawks angrily, reaching down to land a flurry of pecks before Junpei reaches up with his free hand and takes off his cap, dislodging the bird. She's a girl, damn it! ]
Ow-ow--okay, fine, I'm sorry, I still think it's a pretty badass name.
[ With his cap off, it's become apparent that Junpei's hair has grown in some over the months he's been here, with only irregular tending. His usual buzz-cut has given way to some pretty shaggy locks. He rubs through them with some annoyance. ]
Hey, uh...do you guys think I should get a haircut?
[[ ooc. For anyone with a modern-day Japanese character: 'Captain Tsubasa' is the title of a
long-running 80's manga series about soccer/football. Junpei thinks he's punny because the main character's name means 'wings'. ]]
