Sherlock 2.2 The Hounds of Baskerville + LAST EPISODE PANIC

Jan 15, 2012 17:19

I finally watched The Hounds of Baskerville last night and let me just say IT WAS VERY GOOD.

This won't be making much sense, I'm a bit tired and totally enamoured of this episode.

I'm so relieved that it was good. Not just good but really very very good. Brilliant. I loved it. It was a proper John & Sherlock episode, there was enough room for their relationship to really work the way it should. AND the actors. My god, the actors in this series. THEY ARE SO GOOD. AAAAGH. Benedict in that scene in the hotel with the fireplace. His damn face! He is incredible! AGH! And the writing was great, I loved that they got Sherlock to express fear without being totally out of character!  And Martin, I don't even know what to say. I am speechless. THEY ARE PERFECTION.

I'm totally void of any intelligent analysis right now so read this instead. It's entertaining and pretty much covers everything I thought about the episode and cannot properly enunciate atm in my fannish fervor of love.

LAST EPISODE TODAY!

I've seen some fan conjecture that Moffat and Gatis might want to in some way recreate the hiatus that ACD had after The Final Problem, presumably to encite some sort of massive fandom response to feed their egos. I personally don't believe that will happen, although Martin and Benedict do seem to have a lot of stuff going on this year (The Hobbit, Star Trek etc.). Anyway, I'm pretty sure they've both said that they'd be up for a third season. I hope they find time to make more of this show, it would really be a shame if they just leave it after this episode. There's so much source material, It shouldn't be too hard to make a few more series? Honestly, I'm pretty sure they wont just leave all this popularity and hype to waste away, they'll want to harness it while it's still going strong. Right? RIGHT?

Here's the original ACD short story that tonights episode will be based on: The Final Problem, free to read @ The Gutenberg Project.

Still debating if I should try to find a livestream or just wait and download.
