✰001 - don't bring around a cloud to rain on my parade
Okay, I have no idea how I got here, but this is not the point. While every other member of New Directions is probably spending their summer reading Twilight or playing video games, Rachel Berry has very important things to take care of. Not only do I fully intended to spend at least a week in New York doing nothing but seeing musicals, I also need to start preparing new possible pieces for New Directions and, of course, solos for myself. There is no time like the present to start getting ready for my future. As New Directions acquires more publicity and we actually make it past regionals, scouters from all over will be coming to hear us sing, and I intend to be fully ready when opportunity knocks. No more waiting around for something good to happen, I will be proactive.
Additionally, Finn Hudson and I have lots of things we have to work out. We can even work on duets, when we aren't planning other things.
In short, being here is highly detrimental to my health, my sanity, and my ability to be a star.
I need applause to live - just like Tinkerbell! I can't stay here. This summer is important to me - time is running out, I'll be a junior next year and everything. This is the most important summer of my life until this point.
I intend to make the most of it.
