Back in my room. For the first time since 8:30 this morning.

Keep in mind that I live on campus. In the dorms.

So. Let's see my week in terms of Costuming (a 4-credit-hour class). . .and I'm only putting the things I had to physically be in the shop for.

Monday - Pal Joey costume crew 7-10pm
Tuesday - costume class 9:30-10:20am (granted, it was canceled that day, so we lucked out); costume lab 1:30-2:30pm; Pal Joey costume crew 7-11pm
Wednesday - Pal Joey costume crew 7-11pm
Thursday - costume class 9:30-10:20am; Pal Joey costume crew 7-10:30pm
Friday - costume lab 2:30-5:30pm; Pal Joey costume crew 6:45pm-midnight

Tomorrow we have crew from 10am to 5pm, Sunday at 1pm to whenever they let us go (I just love the open-ended hours. . .), and every day next week from 5 or 5:30 to probably 11 or later.

This isn't even my area of study. Don't get me wrong, I understand the need to have some experience in all aspects of your work (mine being theatre), but this is ridiculous. We do have other classes. Some of us have to watch our GPAs, and I've literally had to skip other classes to work in the shop - whether to make up lab hours or finish homework projects or whatever.

I'd probably really enjoy it if I didn't have other responsibilities and obligations.

I have monologues to pick out and memorize by Monday. I have a test on Thursday. I have a play to read this weekend, and I'm not even sure which one it is. I have homework due in 3 classes. I have a COSTUME TEST to do and turn in (more shit for that ONE class).

We get no recognition. No encouragement. No support. If we ask things like "do you know when we'll get out tonight?" or "can you help me with this *insert random sewing/sorting/labeling/making pattern task here*?" we get snapped at. Treated as if we have an attitude problem.

The other crews so far haven't had to do nearly this much. The Equus crew had JACK SHIT to do.

We're each assigned to 6 or 7 people. Each person has anywhere from 3-10 outfits. Each outfit has God knows how many pieces.

You can't even do the math with that many unknowns. But it's a lot, I promise you.

*sigh*

I'm done ranting. It really wasn't that bad tonight. It's just that I feel as if I deserve some kind of recognition or maybe even extra freaking credit. Maybe a pat on the back or a "go home for the day, you guys have been working too hard."

And I can't find my ID again.

Good  news of today - I made a 105 on my math test (the one I took at 7:30 on Thursday morning). That's what I get for taking "Math for Dummies"

And dinner with Greg, Lindsey and Amy Brown was much fun too.
