Bar's Halloween costumes are the sort to vanish when the wearer gets out of the main room. Out back they're gone completely. Down the corridors, in the rooms, they might or might not disappear entirely. It's a weird thing, but Bar's magic's affected time in those places too; possibly they're linked. It isn't his voice that wakes her quiet as much as a combination of the fact that he's not next to her, he's talking, and his nager flared with something, "Um?" Her voice is sleep-cloudy and dazed. She doesn't sleep much, but she tends to sleep heavy when she does.

You want to know? Then look, Garion had said-

"Suzi?" says Whistler, his voice trembling more than a little. "You, uh.... that's you, right?"

He doesn't really trust himself to try to cross the open space right now. He'd have to navigate. And the idea of closing his eyes to make this weird new experience stop hasn't occurred to him.

That's enough to make her wake up, "Um. Yes? Who else would it be?" She sits up in the bed, hair as wild as only curly hair left unbraided can get, and tosses the covers back, "Are you alright? That's a stupid question, you don't sound alright..."

She's not looking exactly at him, she can't see in pitch darkness after all, but she's ready to get out of the bed and come help if he needs her.

He flinches at the sweeping stimulus across his- he doesn't even know what to call it. Something just changed, very fast. "Don't- it's- something happened," he manages, lamely. "Just, uh... just... you stay there, all right? I- I'll... I'll be right there."

He blinks. That, too, is strange. He's blinked all his life but it's never made a damn bit of difference. Maybe if he-

Yes. There. It happened again. It went away.

He clenches his jaw, shuts his eyes, and does his best to convince his feet that it's okay to move again. The- whatever- isn't going to strike again without warning.
