Essay prompt post for Hanatarou, Lyra, and Kazumi. Maybe if other people prompt me to essay, I'll actually stop being lazy and do it. (I um, need the practice for my senior thesis!)
Kazumi's thoughts on yaoi Sayo... have changed some since this question was asked! :D But starting from the beginning...
Kazumi wasn't expecting anything like what's actually developed between them to happen when she first offered to be Sayo's friend. It seemed like before, she hadn't been the type to have any really close friends. She'd had lots of friendly acquaintances, and more recently the group she'd allied with to help Negi and keep his secret, but nobody she'd talk to at length about anything other than business, share personal thoughts and feelings with, etc.
Then Sayo came and, well, started hanging out in Kazumi's body, among other things. But also, my guess is she was probably the first person Kazumi found at school who was willing to just... talk with her, about herself, without acting paranoid that whatever she said would end up in the paper the next day. And with that, Kazumi's reasons for being friends with Sayo moved beyond the initial "Oh, poor thing, we should be nice to her!" She isn't fully aware of it yet, but the more she hangs out with Sayo, the more she starts to realize protecting other people's interesting secrets can be just as rewarding as shocking everyone else with them.... It's sappy and cheesy, but. |D
As for Sayo's crush -- Kazumi is definitely aware of it by now cuz yeah SHE'D HAVE TO BE HORRIBLY DENSE NOT TO. 8D It had occurred to her that something might be up as soon as the phasing started... obviously she knows the implications that kind thing can have... but for a while she dismissed it as maybe just part of Sayo's eagerness in having any kind of friend who can see her at all, and wanting to feel safe. But the last couple conversations they had, with Sayo getting flustered and secretive as Kazumi opened up to her more and saying there was something she could "maybe someday" tell Kazumi, pretty much confirmed that there was more to it than that. On the other hand, Kazumi's quick to jump to conclusions of "Ooh, _____ likes _____!" -- when it doesn't involve her, so she caught on about Sayo's crush on Ari the very first time Sayo told her about him.
How does she feel about this? She... doesn't really know yet. I'm playing her as never having been interested in having a significant other... it just makes sense; it'd get in the way of her work, and she seems plenty happy enough to watch and push at other people's relationships. But like I said, she's somewhat aware that her views on friendship are already changing, so who knows; her views on more-than-friendship could also start to change. Knowing that Sayo likes both her and Ari has gotten her thinking, and she's surprised to find that she's actually considered, "Could I... maybe like them, too?" Because she likes threesomes.... Okay, I like threesomes. I mean. Uh.
But for now, she's going to try to keep treating Sayo the same as she always has and hope she can sort out exactly how she feels and what she's going to do if Sayo decides to confess to her. But whatever she concludes, the last thing she wants to do is hurt her.
...
Wait, you asked for "general" thoughts? Um. Oops. XD
