“Hi my name is blah… would you like to avail of our service?” This line usually makes me insane especially with accents I can barely recognize. Who cares if it’s free or partially free or just-a-joke free? The point is, nobody wants to be called by the same company with five different people all at once. Nobody. There’s nothing entertaining about that and surely there’s nothing to appreciate there.
I remember the time when I was expecting a very important call from a client of mine and I had to take a dump but the phone rang. And being this old by the way takes like a decade to get everything done. But I had to run and forget about the issue at hand. And all I got was a freaking telemarketer talking like she was choking herself. I wanted to rip that person’s head off.
So I started complaining about that number but the authorities wouldn’t give a damn about the issue because according to them I had no evidence whatsoever. What freaking evidence did they want anyway? Thank God for the internet, I saw where everybody was gathering to complain the same things. Reading all the complaints just threw me off my chair. My God! Who are these people and what in the hell are they thinking?
But I was struck by lightning. Weeks ago I was starting a business and the phone line apparently was the same number. Having known all the complaints I started being curious that left the phone company representative uneasy. He told me that the number has been available since August of last year and I just happen to have it now. I’m not sure why or if I am being punished for something I didn’t do but this was absurd and strange. Days after that I reread the forums in Call Catalog and realized that the people were receiving calls until September 2009.
This was crazy, I thought. Those people who kept receiving the same calls were all fraudulent and the company being blamed for this is not even the right people. I too, was astonished for such a mess that I almost put myself in.
