He did stop though when he saw a man trying to fight of crows with a shovel. Zachariah tried not to laugh but, well, that was just funny.]
Maybe you should try putting up a scarecrow instead.

[Joe grumbled in return. Stupid birds needed to get the hell out of his garden.]

[Moving back toward the Kitchen, Joe ignored the birds and looked to Riah.]

[Zachariah didn't make a habit of teasing people he just met but this whole scene seemed like something out of a comedy.]

Runnin' back to get the gun would have lost me even more. I saved some of the stuff out there, Zachariah, before I started whackin' into 'em.
[He should probably start keeping that rifle around, if this is going to keep up. However, Joe has another idea.]
I've got a job fer ya. Like you said, I need a scarecrow. You need somethin' to build, aye? I know there's a post in the carpentry house, if you want to use that as a base.

Yeah I can do something like that. Shouldn't take me too long.
[He pauses for a moment as he thinks. Zachariah really doesn't want to do this, but he really would like to have some steel for the forge.]
Don't suppose you'd mind telling me where I can get my hands on some steel in return?

[Zachariah shrugs. He really didn't have a long term plan with this.]
I want to get the smithy up and running, start making things. Getting tired of sitting on my hands all day.

[That said, Joe ditches his crow infested garden to lead Riah toward the Carpentry house.]
The sooner we can get this scarecrow up, the better. Can't be feedin' the lot of you if there ain't any food left.
