personality:
Aria T’Loak is a woman of many pasts, many identities, and twice as many secrets. Having lived for centuries, she knows more than the average person. She’s held many different titles, and has learned from each of them, discarding the useless parts and keeping the important. She sees the world on a chessboard, moving the pieces and predicting the actions of countless opponents. She doesn’t fight with guns and fists, even though she has in the past, but with information and staying one step ahead of everybody else. She is dangerous because she simply knows too much. Aria’s power comes from her ability to collect information. Nothing goes on in her domain that she doesn’t know about, and she’s willing to share that information with people who need it, if she takes in interest in them.

This isn’t to say that she is helpless otherwise. Aria is ruthless, and has used all of her skills to become one of the most dangerous people in the known galaxy. Few people dare to challenge her, not just because of her intelligence, but also because she is always willing to her hands dirty. It’s her cutthroat nature that made her the Pirate Queen of Omega. In a place where the people are lawless, there is only one rule that everybody follows: Don’t fuck with Aria. Very few people dare cross her.

Her personality comes off as a bit cold most of the time, but that’s because her business is her life. She’s intentionally vague about her history, not wanting to broadcast any information about herself, even though she doesn’t fear her past, but there are many people in her past who know how to hold a grudge. She comes off a no-nonsense, the type of person who would throw you under a bus just because you’re expendable.

However, underneath her harsh, unforgiving exterior, she’s a rather protective person. The people of Omega are her citizens, and she does everything in her power to protect him. She’s not the type of leader who only orders her soldiers to fight for her, but is the one leading the charge. Those that are under her protection, despite living in one of the most dangerous places in the galaxy, are possibly the safest in the galaxy. Just because Aria is protective though, does not mean that she is forgiving. Anybody that crosses her is dealt with harshly.

Overall, she’s still very human (as much as an alien can be), but just buries under a tough front because she has to be. Does that mean that she is really a sensitive person who values feelings? No, but she is not the, to put it frankly, bitch that she presents herself to be. She lived in a place where the strong survive and the weak are crushed beneath the heels of the strong. The moment she shows weakness is the moment she loses everything, and she will never risk that.

She is strong, has an unfaltering will, and doesn’t bend well to the machinations of others. While she can be a patient person, she is never just “playing along”. She will always have her own plans in play, and working with or against somehow is usually only a matter of coincidence when her needs align with another’s. Above anything else, she is driven by ambition, and personal freedom.

abilities/powers:
Like most characters in the Mass Effect universe, Aria is familiar with and utilizes an Omni-Tool, a holographic device that manifests around the user’s arm. The device is able to store information, hack simple systems and encrypt data.

Besides that, Aria is trained as a commando and mercenary, so she knows how to fight. She’s a skilled tactician and all-around the hbic. Aria also possesses extremely powerful biotics, the ability for some lifeforms to create mass effect fields. Using her biotics, she is able to generate fields that can knock down enemies, lift them into the air, generate gravitational vortices, create barriers, and even tear obstacles apart.

Aria’s true strength, however, doesn’t lie in her physical strength but in her ability to lead. She is a natural born leader, able to protect the people that need it while at the same time being absolutely ruthless. The people around her either follow her commands or get out of her way.

As far as her weaknesses go, being an asari, Aria is not a physically strong person. She is capable and in good shape, but she is not the kind of person that can last long in a fist fight. Her physiology is more or less that of a human, so anything that can injure an average human can and will injure Aria.

first person sample:

[The voice that comes through over the communication is calm, smooth, but most definitely carries an edge to it. The speaker is calm, for the time being, but she is more than just a little irritated, and it’s noticeable.]
If this is some kind of a joke, then I can assure you that it’s not as amusing as you might think. I might not know exactly how you pulled me off a Cerberus vessel into this… haunting little human city, but if you have the technology to do that, then I assume you can send me back to Omega.

Whatever trick or game this might be doesn’t matter. People are dying while you’re taking people’s clothes and putting them in morgues.

[There’s a pause and a slight growl, but then she hums softly, suddenly composed.]

Of course, I know that who or what did this isn’t going to answer me, which is smart on its part, really.

I’ll address all of you instead. My name is Aria, and I’m in charge Omega, and while that might not mean much here, I still want to know what’s going on.

I’d also like it if the Spectres and Normandy crew would take a moment to make themselves known.

third person sample:

Even though Aria thought the garments were rather plain, finding a pair of clothes that were suitable was easy since asari were similar to humans. The next step was to find a place to stay from where she could keep an eye on the city, a base of operations. To that end, she was walking through the penthouse of one of the taller hotels. It was surprising that it hadn’t been taken yet, but other people probably had more important, more panicky, things to worry about.

Only maybe a fourth of the lights were working in it, but that was just a small technicality, and it wasn’t even an issue in light of the view that she had from the large balcony overlooking the dark, desolate city. It might not have been a nightclub like she would soon be looking for, but it was a start. The penthouse was up high, it was private, and most importantly, it exuded power.

This was not where she wanted to be right now. Decades, even centuries, of planning just went down the drain by the simple fact that she had been taken from her home, her kingdom, first by the bastards of Cerberus, and now by… whatever this place was. She was more than just angry, she was absolutely livid, and if she ever finds whatever is responsible for this, then there would be no mercy. She would return to Omega, whether it was in time to save it or coming back to a destroyed satellite.

However, just because she had nothing here, doesn’t mean that she would be idle. No matter where she was in the universe, it didn’t matter. She was still Aria T’Loak, the Pirate Queen of Omega, and she would rebuild.
