[Audio]

You’ve got to be shitting me. Once wasn’t enough? I’ve got to be uprooted from my life and shoved into some place with people in charge who are claiming it’s for my own good but really they don’t give a fuck twice? Or is this actually the place people go when they’ve been ‘rehabilitated’? Because I’ve gotta say, I prefer the facility. At least ( Read more... )

arrival, audio, wtf is this

[Yeah he wasn't listening to most of that. One thing did catch his attention though.]

You've got a shop?

Yeah. Took me forever to actually be able afford the damn thing, and now it's probably going to get run into the ground because the Core decided I needed to be elsewhere.

[In a medieval castle. With no cars. Awesome. She worked hard for that shop, damn it.]

I kinda know how you feel. Ran a workshop back home. Everyone must be going nuts without me there.

[That last bit she said was kind of interesting.]

The Core?

[And she brightens a bit at that. Because misery loves company, or whatever.]

Yeah? Nuts is a good way to describe it. The only one of 'em there who can make decisions on his own will probably make the wrong ones just to spite me. Or because he's an idiot.

[All right, not really. She's just cranky. She grimaces slightly at his question.]

I know there's no mention of them anywhere, but there's no way they don't have a hand in this. Nothing happens without them knowing about it, we should all know that by now.

Yeah, just hope they're not panicking too badly without me there.

[But then, from what Iriel said he was still there when she got taken so...yeah he just wasn't going to think about it. He was a boxer, a handyman, and a bit of a weapon designer, not a scientist.]

Okay but, what's the Core?

Hopefully they haven't had enough time to descend into complete panic yet. Though I don't know, how long've you been here?

[There's a slight pause as she tries to figure out if he's just screwing with her, or if he's actually serious.]

The Core Republic? The people in charge of everything, the reason why most of the world's lived in peace since forever?

[Or since the end of the war, but that'd been before she was born, so it might as well be forever.]

A little over a month I think. Haven't seen a calender in a while.

[Plus he's been living in the stables.]

Oh, okay. Let me ask you something. Ever heard of Halis?

dontfeartheme October 9 2011, 08:24:10 UTC
Damn. I guess that means we're here for the long haul.

[Not that she should've expected otherwise, but part of her'd been hoping.

...and all right, that easy 'oh, okay' has her suspicious.]

No, I haven't. Why?

Looks like it.

[The only part of it that really worried him was that he wouldn't be getting back to Fiel and the others anytime soon. Besides that, well, he had been through worse situations with less.]

Then you never heard of Gerard. Or Deadworld. Or the Saints.

[These weren't questions. They were facts.]

Sorry but um, whatever world you were on before you aren't there anymore. Just like the rest of us.

Awesome.

[She's just going to keep on pretending it's having to be here that's really bothering her, and not that she's got people back home she doesn't want to leave. People she needs, who need her.

And then there's a pause as she stares at the journal.]

Are you telling me that 'worlds,' plural bit in this note wasn't just more of their bullshit?

helluvachin October 10 2011, 13:47:34 UTC
Really wish I could tell you otherwise. I don't wanna be here much either.

[Although, this place did give him Abeni back so it can't be all bad.]

At least that part isn't. I've never heard of the Core and you've never heard of Halis, plus there's some people here who definitely aren't from my world. Not too sure about the rest of that note though.

That's usually the way it is, no one really wants to be in these damn places.

[She considers that for a moment. It's really hard to imagine a world without the Core. But if he really hasn't heard of it...there's pretty much no way he can be from her world.

Unless there's a section of it she just doesn't know about, where the Core hides themselves from people or some shit, but why the hell would they do that?]

Bit too used to getting fucked over by those in charge to believe something like that at face value. But there's really no Core on your world? No facilities?

helluvachin October 11 2011, 12:44:29 UTC
Well, there are worse places to be right?

[He was just trying to stay optimistic. Someone had to at least. How long could they really keep them here anyway?]

Nope, just Gerard and her Deadworld, but that really isn't an improvement.

dontfeartheme October 12 2011, 04:24:52 UTC
If you want to look at it that way, yeah. Doesn't change that I had a whole bunch of shit I need to be doing back home.

[Optimism is for people who aren't sulking really pissed off. She's also having a little trouble seeing how not having the fucking Core wouldn't be an improvement, but she doesn't comment on that, because she knows even on her world, she's in the minority there.]

Deadworld?

Me too, I just gotta trust my friends back home to handle things.

It...[He pauses. That's not something he wants to go into much.]...It's just a horrible place.

I'd trust them a hell of a lot more if I wasn't the one having to patch them up over every little thing.

[Which isn't true, not really. She does trust them to take care of things without her, at least for a little while, she just. Doesn't want them to have to.]

Oh.

[Yeah, she knows how that is.]

Forget I asked, then.
