countdown to graduation truly begins.
yesterday was sooooo much fun.
no school, cuz i didn't have to go (always a good reason).
kristiana came over at about 10ish in the morning so we could hang out. first, we went to food lion to pick up some sort of snack/meal-like item to eat. after we circled around the store (and the frozen entree section about 3 times), we finally decided on hot pockets because they were an excellant deal (3 for $5).
then we came back to my house, made fruit salad with the leftover strawberry quarters, sliced bananas, a sliced peach, and pineapple chunks topped with plain yogurt and almond slices... it was yum.
we watched 'chicago', which was sorta what i expected in the beginning, but different than what i expected towards the middle/end. i love catherine zeta jones! then we watched 'the talented mr ripley' complete with violent head bashings and an ever-smokin' jude law; kristiana liked it, as did i, but i fell asleep since i had seen it a few times already. lastly, we watched a little tv before kristiana had to leave to pick up her brother(s).
immediately after her departure, i brought out dad's corvette to clean and wash for some cash. i did the interior first, but then had difficulty putting the top up, so i was gonna wait til dad came back so he could do it, but finally figured it out 2 minutes before he got home, and so washed and dried (to prevent water spots) it. it was sooo hot, it wasn't even funny. i saw the slut cat slinking around, and the thought of hosing it down across the yard came to mind a few times.
then i took a shower, got re-dressed, and waited around for dustin to get off work by chatting online. then there was dinner, and more waiting online until i finally got an aim from chelsea telling me that dustin was panicking because he couldn't get ahold of me and forgot where i lived, so we had to 'play telephone' to get directions to him... few minutes later, he was at my door.
k- so the story was that i called his cell... his old cell (because he just replaced it a week ago)... and left a voice message telling him that my cell doesn't work anymore, so call my dad's cell or my house... and of course, he didn't get it because, unbeknowest to me, he's not using that cell anymore. in the meanwhile, dustin's calling MY cell (that doesn't work) every five minutes because it kept telling him that the 'system' is busy, so he kept trying it, cursing me because he though i was on the line talking to someone else, and THAT'S why the 'system' was busy. but anywho; so he calls everyone and their mom for my house number/directions, but either people weren't picking up or they didn't know. so, on a gut instinct, he drives around fentress all the while because he thinks i might live in that area and just see if he can find my house by looking for my car... which, as you all know, would have been impossible... and thirty minutes of randomly driving around, he finally calls chelsea who aim's me. so he gets to my door, and we swap stories/explainations and laugh at the dramatic irony of it all.
needless to say, there was much jestful blaming of each other on the car ride to greenbriar and the rest of the evening.
well, the first mission was to locate 'little nemo: adventures in slumberland' at best buy. get to best buy... closed. missed it by ten minutes. AND there were still people inside checking out, but we couldn't get in. so... of course, i was depressed that we missed it by the skin of our teeth.
then, still hoping to find it elsewhere, there was a trip to the mall, to suncoast, by chance. and... of course, after arguing with dustin as to when the mall closed (i could have sworn it was 9:30, he thought it was 9), dustin was right, and the mall was closed, too. even bigger bummer.
onward with the mission: we try target. althought it was open, we couldn't find the movie. and, as a sidenote, dustin and i do not approve of the re-modeling... and the new pharmacy smells like old people. when we left, we ran into a bunch of friends of dustin's... not particularly exciting in the least, but eventful.
finally, mission two: get starbucks and look around barnes n noble... which turned into more hunting for the movie, which we still did not find. when we finally gave up, we went to starbucks where i spent an excessively long time choosing what to get... (not caramel!) i ended up trying a tzao chia passion ice tea, which grew very much on me. as we were waiting for dustin's strawberry frap, the guy that took our order asked if we were together... and assuming that he meant that we ordered together (which we did, cuz dustin benevolently bought my drink for me), we said yea... and then he asked if we were one of those happy couples that makes everyone jealous, cuz we're really cute together. hahahaha. so, after we found out what he actually meant, we were quick to clarify that we weren't together 'in that way'. then the guy persisted and said that he thought we were because he was watching us (as we were arguing over what i was deciding to get) and we seemed really 'cute' and 'happy'. before we left, i rebutted with dustin's girlfriend (i love you, andi!) not being too happy about that, and that i 'don't do happy'... ever. then my soul was even more depressed because i 1)couldn't find the movie i had set my hopes on; and 2) was mistaken for being part of a happy couple, and knowing that while seemingly everyone else is (dustin included), i'm not; matter of fact, i've NEVER been truly happy while dating someone. eh... at least there's the next year four years of college to try again.
well, we recovered from the amusement, and moved on to blockbuster to trudge on with the search; yes, i'm stubborn. we were depressed to see that the once mighty blockbuster, now sucks. and we still didn't find the movie. so, dustin finally calls movie gallery (where he works) to check, still no luck (but with amusement that the guy on the phone dropped the phone three times while searching the computer), and decided to go to movie gallery neways to look for another movie to rent and watch (since dustin can get them for free there).
at movie gallery, dustin was harrassed for being 'at work' again that day. the 'friend'/co-worker that d talked to on the phone attempted to convince us that we wanted to get asian porn. we looked around the whole store for ideas (and learned that the name of the movie about the national spelling bee with the funny looking boy on the cover is considered a 'thriller' and called 'spellbound' and NOT 'spelling bee), and finally compulsively picked 'shaun of the dead' when i convinced dustin that it was a great movie because it 1)spoofed 'dawn of the dead,' which dustin has seen; and 2) was set in england, complete with english accents (which automatically makes it an amusing movie no matter what).
then we came back to my house to watch it. since it was 11:30 when we started it, i didn't make it past the first thirty minutes, and had already started cat napping by the first violent zombie bludgeoning. dustin had to watch it without me, for the most part, even though i was in and out. he said he really liked it, tho, so our adventures were not in complete vain. by 1:30am, he was on his way home, and i, very stumbly and incoherent, immediately went upstairs and crashed on my bed.
and as a sidenote: last night, i haven't laughed nearly that much and that hard in .f.o.r.e.v.e.r. -dustin is simply awesome.
slept in this morning because i didn't have to be anywhere until 9 (for graduation practice). when i got to school, i immediately went to the drama room to hang out and get more people to sign my yearbook. few minutes later, kristiana also came in. then we went to the VERY chaotic attempt at hurding the seniors into some sort of feasible formation of seating. top five reasons i hate most of my class:
5) it took an hour and a half for 2/3rds of the class to locate where to sit... even with lists and guides to assist.
4) i was surrounded by idiots who kept burping and/or screaming when their friends names were called.
3) it was apparently amusing to most when ms turner started loudly humming the recession over the mic, and egged her on to continue (for nearly 15 minutes).
2)some people, regardless of 13 years of education, couldn't figure out that seats were taped off FOR A REASON (to mimic the seating formation of the ted constant center), and so removed the tap anyways so they could sit in their row...
1)jerry johnson. nuff said.
...and i had a headache by the end. whoever thought it was a good idea to cram 552 seniors (half with a gpa of 2.99 or lower) into the great hall and expect them to figure out where to line up is an IDIOT, and should be put in the stocks and have rotten tomatoes and onions hurled at them for all eternity.
when it finished, i made my way back to the comfort of the drama room to meet up with kristiana. we attempted to go get food at the senior picnic, but when we saw the ridiculously long line, we decided to get olive garden instead. then we came back to the drama room to talk to people and wait for andi who was gonna join us for lunch. before we left, mrs wood wrote out a note to give to me so i can come back to drama anytime next year without being harrassed by front security; she started sniffling, and i got on her case about not crying.
then there was olive garden where k and i got unlimited soup, salad, and breadsticks (even though we each only got 2 breadsticks and one bowl of soup and salad) and andi got chicken ceasar salad. later, we tried the chocolate lasangna, which was far too sugary/rich (and coming from me... that's REALLY sugary/rich).
then i came home and relaxed.
good news, everyone!!!!!!!!!!!! mom has just informed me that while i was typing this, she was talking to cingular/suncom, and although i'm canceling my service with them, they turned my phone back on until the 29th of this month. so, in laymen's terms, my cell phone works again, at least until the 29th... so you all can reach me through it, again. and when dad gets home, we might go searching for a new company/cell phone for me, tonight. so i'm either doing that this evening, or going shoe shopping for something to wear to graduation, since i apparently must have dark shoes.
i've started re-arranging/ creating groups for my buddy list to update changes in status. plus, i've deleted over 50 people so far that i don't have any intention of talking to ever again/ keeping in touch with. (but if you're reading this, and i know that you do, i haven't deleted you, so don't worry).
why is my livejournal format messed up?! eh... it's not bad, but i liked my old one better... i must investigate/fix this.
update* 9:48pm
since i wrote this afternoon, nothing remarkably splended graced me.
stayed online, talked to mims, had a confusing and almost aggressive (?) conversation about shoe shopping. got offline, started playing sims until i got a call from mariam scolding me for playing sims instead of preparing to go shopping. few seconds later, she had talked me into going, but first i had to try on the dress i was going to wear for graduation with my gown to make sure you couldn't see the pattern underneath before i went to buy shoes for it; you couldn't, so then i was out the door to go pick up mims.
listened to 'into the woods' and located "giants in the sky" which hides in track 6 (a little before the 3 minute mark), and listened to other lovely and figurative songs.
got to the mall. went to dollar tree to locate hair ties, which they apparently don't have. then to payless where we didn't find shoes, then to bakers, then rackroom, then dillards, then back to rackroom... nothing.
before we left, we miffed over whether or not to get pretzles from auntie anne's, and mariam (and not i) recognized penguin working there, and i recognized penguin's older sis. then there was chit chat, and i ended up getting an application which i filled out while eating a pretzle. then i went back and turned it in.
we stopped by express briefly so mariam could check out the sale, but she ended up frolicking in the men's section instead.
then we left, and had an apathetic yet passionate (verbal irony, i know, but that explains it best) discussion about what's right and fair in high school theatre politics.
then i dropped mims home, and returned home myself... still shoeless.
