i can't believe how loooooong the day was.
around noonish, mims and i braved horrendo traffic, stupid cops who don't know how to direct traffic, a near fender bender with dalton glass (his fault), and goth kids to go to the library so i could pay my fines and she and i could look around. among my finds (dvds) i picked up season 3 of 'i love lucy' which mariam and i took back to her house to watch (with technical difficulties) while eating an eggplant/zuccini/squash wrap (was very good).
my car was having issues again, so i won't be driving it until it's officially fixed by professional car people.
then there was the great trip to my voice lesson wich took 10 minutes longer than normal becuase the bridge was closed and i had to drive all the way down mt pleasant to get around to kempsville. lesson was fine... we made sure not to strain my voice, and i felt like singing random songs instead (from coldplay, jewel, shrek 2. the last five minutes, we sung through 'when she loved me' in front of kristen's next student (who was in competition to sing the same song with me, but kristen is letting me sing it).
directly afterwards, i met scott at the mall where he got lunch, we talked, walked around, and gave funny looks to weird people. also ran into aldrin and greg, and stopped to say hi.
then i went5 home, collecteds everything i had gathered that morning for showcase and brought it to mom's car, then did my hair and makeup before i left for school.
showcase started off rather stressful, but ended grand. mrs wood dropped the bomb that i needed to memorize the part of the introduction that i was going to say, so i was trying to quickly do that while listening to kristiana talk chelsea (or whoever was running sound) through 'technical problems' with the sound board... so the sound board wouldn't work, and the dancers had to be rushed off so we could move on to the individual performances and figure out what to do about the dance number, AND i had to go on without mrs wood for the introduction, and tried my best to cover.
scott and i performed 'in whatever time we have' tonight for the very last time EVER. i'm sorry, everyone- you will never see scott and/or me performing that song ever again...
afterwards, there was a quite possibly one of the quickest costume changes i have ever been apart of.
then the dancers went, and intermission came. everyone changed into their formal wear, and all nominees sat in the first three rows for awards. first, letters and stars and bars, the vesting of new officers, then hpat officers, then the oscars. i guessed the outcome of every single category correctly (except for that one upset). i'm really happy that laura got the scholarship. jess cried (and mixed up my name, lol) when she found out i picked her for the president's award. i got actress of the year and thespian of the year (i really super wanted thespian of the year, and was surprised that i got actress of the year). all in all, the night was lovely... and i didn't cry like i thought i would... almost, but not quite.
afterwards, mims and i stopped by her house, then went to scott's house, and we all went to ihop to meet everyone. sat with jess and chucked paper balls at andrew every time he gropped her. scott and i again counted how many times 'smothered' was on the *new* menu. i opted out of the heart attack special that i normally get, and got the triple bypass special (just mozerella sticks) instead.
then there was home.
i'm really glad this year was as amazing as i couldn't have ever dreamed it to be... and i laugh at everyone who was worried about mrs wood coming before she got here... senior year has definetly been the greatest year ever.
now all that's left is... graduation.
