"i was drunk. i was going to buy another 40 so I could get drunker"
A post that's probably meaningless to the rest of the world, but I left my journal at home so I'm putting it here:
Now that I see my sister's life, the army life, I am excited and I am scared. I'm so scared because she's going to Iraq. In her office is a makeshift memorial for a female MP (military police) from her unit that died the last time the 527th went "down range." That didn't really faze me too much though, but it is kind of eerie. Then SGT Rondeau, the NCO that heads up the platoon with her, starts showing me pictures and videos to try to dissuade me from joining the army. I'm talking military night-vision videos of them killing people during a weapons exchange, pictures of dead babies in dumpsters, body parts here, random blown up person there. I handled that well, surprisingly. When two army guys were eating dinner with me, i had to excuse myself when their started comparing their war stories, but that wasn't so bad either. You know what got me? There was a promotion ceremony today that I was at, and at the end the CPT made everyone do "horseshoe formation" around them. He stressed how close the company was to NOT being deployed because the soldiers were dropping like flies, he talked about how important is to buck up these next three weeks, because all there is is three weeks work then two weeks leave then Iraq. I couldn't believe it-- the guys I head spent all day joking around with, all the officers and NCOs I was introduced to throughout the day, all the "joes" I was dancing with the weekend before-- they're all going to war. I nearly lost it. The only thing tha pulled me through? An field artillery LT, a friend of my sister's, he and I were walking from his apartment to a bar, and he was consoling me about all of this. He's done his first tour in iraq, and he assured me that wendy was strong, wendy will make it through this emotionally. i guess that's all i have to draw my strength from for now, and i'll leave the rest up to god.
i am, however, excited. because i have the chance to hang out with my sister, and it's freaking amazing. also, now i know more and more about all the aspects of military life... and i really think it's where i belong. so i'm excited to get back to 'sc and see what happens there.

5 Famous People I Would Like to Meet - ryan reynolds (waaay hot), nelson mandela (one of the most amazing people to ever walk the face of the planet), vladmir putin (just to pick his brain a little), bill clinton (because his charisma's like whoa), and hugh hefner (cause we could reminisce about our chambana roots)
5 Biggest Joys At the Moment - i'm with my sister! i'm in love with europe! army people are hilarious! when i get home it's off to 'sc! i've found people who ALWAYS know how to have a good time! joy!
5 Favorite Toys - tetris, a basketball, water guns, the car keys to "my" audi, and all my boy toys!
