I've no idea - probably "Hamlet" or "Hamlet and Gertrude" or something terribly unoriginal.

WOULDN'T IT. I was a bit hesitant, because I think Claudius and Gertrude are actually pretty cute, but, bugger it, SLASH.

Oh, dude. I totally love the idea of a female Horatio, but admittedly the idea came to me in the context of a female Hamlet. XD Not sure how I feel about the idea of Horatio(a)/Gertrude, though. HAMLET HAS TWO MOMMIES, OMFG. THIS IS EXCELLENT. THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN. (Claudia?)

YES! SLASH!

Actually, if Claudius is buggering Laertes, it's only fair for Gertrude and Ophelia to get some hot crazy!sex, right?

Right, yes. (I haven't yet reviewed it here, but I just saw a production where Ros and Guil were pretty obviously a lesbian couple.) Female Hamlet Sr, maybe?

I kind of want to make EVERYONE A WOMAN, but I feel that would ruin the point. XD

Wait, actually -- there's a film of Hamlet with a ... Polonia. And apparently she's L and O's older sister, and she controls Laertes with sex and Ophelia with drugs. (Trying to find the blog where this is mentioned - it's watching scenes from a ton of different Hamlets and blogging about them individually - and failing.)

YAY :D Turning Shakespeare on its head, one lesbian at a time!

(Yee! They were so cute. <3)

Heh! XD That actually kinda works, too. So Gertrude stays female? And Claudius male. And if it's a matriarchy, to provide an heir to the throne, Hamlet would be female, too... What about Horatio? And Polonius and his kids? I think since Polonius is Claudius' advisor, he should stay male... Laertes can keep his penis, too, to emphasize MEN=EVIL. What about Ophelia? Should she stay female? Maybe the reason why Polonius doesn't like Hamlet courting her is because EEW LESBIANS BAD? He is working for the man who made the royal family heteronormative, after all...

You can watch it (though not download it) here!!! It starts off a bit strange, but then it proceeds... somewhat normally. (It starts with Ophelia's death, FYI, which is either an overdose or poison or Ghost-induced or all of these, but then goes right into I.2.)
