[Luffy doesn't see Ace angry that often. And certainly not that pissed. He knows why Ace is pissed, he can understand it, and frankly, he's pissed, too. Scientists haven't done shit except for fucking with them.

So he walks over to Ace, and stands beside him on the Hardy. He pats his shoulder.

And, for once, he's not quite sure what to say.]

{Luffy will notice that Ace is exceptionally warm to the touch. Go figure, when he's pissed he literally starts to boil a bit. The patting won't hurt Luffy though. Once that hand touches his shoulder he sort of deflates anyway. Had it been anyone else he might have flinched but... bros, he doesn't even have to look to realize it's Luffy.

He sighs softly and looks a little worn thin now before casting his eyes down.}

I'm sorry, Luffy. {Ya know, for seeing him flip out like that. It's not a pretty sight. He lifts his dark gaze to the teen and places his hand over Luffy's, his skin back to a normal temperature now.}

This sort of thing really shouldn't even get to me anymore. It's not surprising. But man... they piss me off.

{A small nod before his brow furrows at the sudden lecture. He's caught off guard as the hat is pushed over his face and he makes a startled noise of protest, muffled under the ruffle. He groans and fixes it on his head, then casts his eyes off.}

It was kind of foolish of me to just assume... {It was a weak protest.}

So, dammit, ask people for help. Call people in Spero, and see if they can help the new ones out. Yeah, it'll be tough for them, but they'll make it. [His voice is a little more gentle.]

{He's a little insulted here. How were people misunderstanding what he was saying.} It's not that I don't believe in them. That's not what I meant at all but...

Shit... Most of who's over there doesn't have a clue how things are here, where they are, anywhere in the city that's useful. There's a thick fog cover, bodies everywhere, most new arrivals will be in a sheer panic. I'm not sure Eridan could or SHOULD handle that alone... he could really use our help...

I don't know. I'm just pissed that the people are going to have to suffer more than is necessary after they've JUST arrived. It's bad enough they'd be lost, scared and confused to begin with but then add all this? Starvation and who knows what? It's not right and I just wish there was more I could do.

Ace, I get that you wanna help everyone. And make sure nothing bad happens. Especially when you don't know anyone's skills and stuff. [He gets that better than anyone.]

But.... [he bites his lip.] right now, we just have to do what we can. Blame the scientists for the shitty planning. You'll just have to trust that other guy will help everyone. You don't have a choice right now.

But goddammit, Ace! [Punches his arm.] You don't have to carry all that by yourself! Marco, Japan, and I feel the same way. A lot of other people might, too! Quit carrying this burden all by yourself!
