Mn. It's hard to say. I've been here over two years and I still can't figure out what they really want. But they always seem to appear when the shit hits the fan.

The living conditions are at poverty level at best, and you risk illness at the consumption of anything. They're not very health conscious. On top of that the monster count keeps expanding.

Yep, it's been that way though and we've manged. The scientists provide us with supplies, canned goods and other things to make more suitable foods or whatever we might need. They even sometimes fulfill requests but that's about all the good they do for us.
But they have saved us when they needed to. So they at least want us alive, but they leave us to take care of ourselves for the most part.

That just makes it seem like their trying to subject us to Stockholm Syndrome. If they give and reward us with things that barely sustain our population, then they aren't very concerned. Death doesn't seem to mean a lot either if they just bring us back.
Most criminals see their victims as something less than human, that's why they lack the ability to empathize with our pain and end up enjoying it. In the two years you've been here, are you familiar with any of them at all?
If you're not, it's a good sign that they don't want be familiar with us, they might start seeing as we are, humans.
