a message left at 6:32 PM on a girl's voice mail:
"Hey, it's Dave. You remember a couple of weeks ago when we had dinner and then went out to Midnight Rodeo? Well, I had a great time, and you said you had a great time, so I was wondering if you wanted to do it again. tonight. Anyway, gimmie a call when you get off work, and let me know. OK. Bye."
one half hour later:
(phone rings)
Dave: yello...
Girl: hiiiii Daaave
Dave: hey ______
Girl: Dave, i'm sorry, but i just got off work and i'm really TIRED, and i don't think i'm gonna go out tonight.
Dave: oh, well that's ok
Girl: ....and i have to be in early tomorrow and i can't stay out late because i'm really TIRED.
Dave: it's really ok, you wanna get something to eat anyway?
Girl: i can't, i'm on my way to go play volleyball.....
