A part of my childhood has died...

I'll admit, I'm finding out about this quite late, cause I don't tune in all that often, but 99X the alternative rock station is going away. 99X the people who supported Music Midtown and had the free Downtown Rocks concert series is being replaced by Q100 the top 40 station. I mean they were the cool radio station when I was in high school. I can not tell you how many weekends of entertainment 99X provided me and friends. We all rode MARTA together and piled in cars to go to Stone Mountain. I cannot count how many headbands I have from them (including my Smallville one!) how I've seen some awesome bands all for free because of them. If it wasn't for 99X I probably would have never worked at 99Rock when I was in school. I'll admit as of late they haven't been as exciting, but that usually happens when you fire all of the good people who work somewhere. It's just weird that it's actually happening, I understand the principle you put the better performing station on a stronger signal, but man, it sucks. The only question now is what format 100.5 is moving to...

P.S. It snowed again today, but it has since all melted again. The whole city was panicking because of the threat of snow. I'm thinking it was supposed to be significant, but it the predictions were only for at most 3 inches of snow that might accumulate. The storm fizzled out early, because by the time I was driving home at 6 pm the roads were almost dry again.
