I'm OFFICIALLY a public relations major yay! Or should I say...Communication and Media major with a concentration in PR. Whateverr. I'm just glad that I can finally say I'm a PR major and know that it's official now.
In other news..school has been great. Tennis has been great. I started off the season at 2nd doubles and my coach wanted to put me in the singles lineup, but to be fair, he put in a couple girls that weren't going to be playing doubles. This way, everyone got a chance to play matches, which I understood. But then, the #4 singles girl like fractured her spine and I was put in her position and voila- I'm now in the singles AND doubles lineup. Good stuff. I like it better this way. And so when it was time to go to a tournament this weekend, the top 4 players were chosen to go and I was one of them. Pretty sweet..even IF I lost in the first round but that's quite alright.
Classes are going pretty well also. I like that I can take classes now that are actually going to benefit me when I get a job in the "real world". I hate all the general education crap because taking classes like History of Fashion may be fun, but it does ABSOLUTELY nothing to benefit me once I get into the field of public relations. So it's nice to be taking classes that will help me in the long run. My journalism class is nuts though because my teacher makes us go out into the streets and interview people at random. I understand that's what journalists really do- but I don't want to be a journalist. I get nervous going up to strangers because I never know how they will react. Like my current assignment is to interview people about the Jena 6 and it's such a controversial issue and I just don't know how people will react. Arghh. Other than that though, I love that class and the professor. I have a test in Intro to Advertising tomorrow which my professor has told us numerous times is "the hardest test we will ever take at SUNY New Paltz." Fantastic. I guess I'll see how hard it actually is.
My birthday is soon! Yay! Not that turning 19 means anything significant but it's always fun to celebrate..which I will be doing :D
