[FM] December - Mirror

Exhaling she tugged her hair back from her face, all the stray strands that clung to her cheeks fighting against her fingers, trying to keep their spot on her skin instead of taut in a loose knot at the top of her head. Her hand wiped at the mirror trying to clear up some of the haze. Letting go of her hair she heard it slap down against bare shoulders as she exhaled loudly. She had no clue what she was doing anymore, staying at his place for such long stretches of time, cooking for him, cooking at all really was a bit too domestic for he taste but there was something she secretly enjoyed about the feeling of her barefoot pressed to her knee as she stood there in front of the stove waiting for him to come up behind her.

Shaking her head she tried to not think about it. Tried not to think of the brush of his lips against her neck, and the way his breath was always warm and...

"Stop it."

She had to say it out loud, just to shake the thought loose from her mind, and it's still trying to cling tight. Her eyes try to plead with her own reflection, trying to fight against what she knows she has to do. Her sisters features seem to ghost her own at times, and a part of her wonders if that's what he notices in her...

It shouldn't matter though, she shouldn't be caring if he cares for her or a memory. She shouldn't be caring at all.

But she does, and as the mirror fogs over again she is relieved that she won't have to look into her eyes before she heads into the other room to tell him the truth.
