you need to not take the bible so literal. the point is, is to look at it your own way. and that means that certain things could lead you to look at things in a total opposite perspective, or in another different perspective then so be it. you can look at it any which way. it is not making you look at someone in only one way. that is your problem. the point of little passages are to make you think and discover who you are, or what it means (to you) or how you can relate..etc, its not one way. its your own way.

Why is it that something that is made to lead the people, restarins the people?

At first, the intention of the church was to get their message out. When the church leaders learned they could get power from it, this is where the situation went sour.

Religion is essentially the art and the theory of the remaking of man. Man is not a finished creation.

i would rather live my life believing in god and find out that no god exists, than live my life not believing in god and find out that there is a god afterall.

if you are going to declare that you have a religion, then at least believe in what you declared. thats pretty bogus to say that you have a religion and not really believe it just so you dont get screwed over in the end.

That would suck really bad to believe your whole life that there is a god and then just find out that there is no god. Are you saying that just because if there is a god you are scared that he might send you to hell or something. That is why I think most people go to chruch/belive in god at least christians. A lot of them are scared into believing that god exists and they think if they don't they might be punished in some sort of way. Maybe some of the stories in the bible do teach a good lesson but that doesn't mean you should believe in the religon. I forgot what else i was going to say...

Then what is the church for? Why would we even have church if we were suppoed to interpret the bible how we wanted? The answer is that the church was made to tell people what the bible means, so people can't twist it into what they want. The church is the great organizer and restrictor. The intentions are good, but the product turns out bad ( ... )
