i originally posted this in response to
jacquelene's original post about
flight 93 here. if you haven't read it, read it. (first "read" is past tense, second "read" is present tense). but anyway, i wanted to share my thoughts here as well.

obviously anyone nearby nyc will never forget that morning. i, too, get shivers down my spine every time i see this movie trailer on tv. and i just got shivers down my spine reading your post. those images that i saw that morning are etched there and can never be erased.
it was just unimaginable. when both buildings were standing after the attacks, i thought "man, that hole in the side of the building is gonna take a long time to patch". and then after the first tower fell, i thought "man, it's gonna be weird always seeing a lone tower there".
i agree with you that this is a total exploitation of 9/11 to elicit more fear (and $$$) from the american public. and i agree that it is way too soon, and this would work much better ((or slightly better, if better at all), about 10 years in the future. but there are some people in america that do need to be reminded. these are the people in the bible-belt. the ones that support bush tooth-and-nail, and are all gung-ho against terrorism, but only because god-boy says its his mission to spread "freedom". they, like bush, don't really have the memories of 9/11 etched in their minds. no matter what they say. bush was in a florida classroom, then flew to nebraska. the rest of america saw it on tv and thought it looked like a movie, so they got all patriotic, bought tiny flags, and slapped "support our troops" on their SUVs.
so maybe its good to put shivers down the spines of the rest of america that never went through what we went through.
maybe the solution is to only release this movie in the bible belt.
i dunno.
