I was hopeful that Bush would be defeated last night. So hopeful that I actually beleived it would happen, despite polsters indicating that statistically, it was too close to call.
I thought if Bush won, it would be through some sort of manipulation of the electoral college system - getting the required ec votes while not winning the popular vote. I am baffled that the majority of american voters actually want this treasonous trickster as their leader - but apparently they do.
And now it is done. The tension is behind us. And I feel strangely hopeful that perhaps his second term will not be as full of lies and horrible mistakes as experience would predict.
Yet I am hopeful; A wonderful unexpected feeling.
Nothing has really changed, but we can put all this bullshit behind us for another four years (or until the paranoia starts up again).
