Aaaaaah Becky you and your big mouth.
After being busted slating one of the bands I saw at Twee As Fuck in Jan here on LJ by the singer of the band, it turns out that said singer is actually a top person! Despite me calling her band " the worst band I've ever seen live in the whole world EVAR" *facepalm* (which she took in very good humour to be fair), she's invited me to another one of her bands gigs, said she knows a couple of drum teachers who might be able to teach me, offered to introduce me to a friend of hers who needs a drummer (soooooooo not ready for that lol), and introduce me to lots of cool and funky people who I can talk to and maybe get some kind of social life going. So
miramanga , muchos apologies and thanks for offering "to be a part of a welcoming London". It is very much appreciated.
So anyway, my Sunday has been spent mostly putting away clothes, washing clothes, washing pots and generally lazing around. I need to finish the wedding sampler I'm doing for Sam, and I realised the other night that it's Jayne's wedding in 4 months. Because I'm not going to the wedding (it clashes with Glastonbury & I'd already bought my tickets...I'm such a bad friend), I need to do her something extra special for a present. I want to stitch her a sampler, because I think hope she'd appreciate the effort that I'd have put into it. The problem is finding one that is classy and not covered in a bazzilion nasty roses or got God stuff written all over it. I've done this one for Sam:
Sam loves those Me 2 You bears, and I know Jayne likes them too. It's just the amount of back stitch is a NIGHTMARE on them, because all those little hairs have to be done individually. I don't know if I could face doing the same pattern again. I've found a few, but I'm not sure what would be to her taste. We went to school together, but since I moved to Cardiff 7 years ago I only see her at Christmas really. I know what the Jayne 7 years ago would like, but I know how much my tastes have changed since then. So I don't know what to do.
I think she'll like the Love is in the Air one, although the Rennie Mackintosh-inspired is more my thing. I can't remember what colours her house is (she's only just moved in so chances are she'll be painting and whatnot anyway), and Love in the Air one is quite neutral. So anyway - opinions people?
I've been doing some internet window shopping, and I think I may need these things in my life:
I think this is just shrinky dinks on a chain. If it is all I need is someone who can draw stationery and I can make it myself. And I would be a very happy bunny indeed.
Oh Tatty Devine - I love you, really I do. But 75 bar? Please!
Kind of nasty and kind of wrong. But I want it anyway. But it's Vivienne Westwood and I don't have the spare kidney I'd need to fund the purchase (although cheaper than the Tatty Devine necklace to be fair)
