So Fanny and J.A. were down this weekend from The Diff. Went out after work just to the local because their bus didn't get in til 9.30 so I thought I'd go for a soft drink or two...may have had a few pints of Bulmers. Ooops. But, I had a nice chat with Tom, Rich (he's a proper Tyke from Pontefract) and Andrew (my fellow Donx representative!) and a few other randoms which was nice. It's nice to finally be accepted into the work "social group" type people.
J.A's ankle was still bad so she was on her crutches. The underground is SO no suitable for people on crutches. You never really think about it but Jesus, it's really difficult to navigate and people are CUNTS. Saturday we went to Harrods because Fanny really wanted to go and then we went for a potch around the V&A before we went down to the Flowerpot to see
Kunt & The Gang. The Flowerpot is a proper wicked little pub, the staff are SO friendly - the bouncer came over, shook our hand and introduced himself to us and barman who shall from hereon be known as SALMONMAN! gave us free mulled wine. Kunt and the Gang is bloody hillarious and the tunes are SO catchy. Singing under your breath "Fucksticks" in work is not proper behaviour apparently.
Monday in work was hell. Things don't need expanding upon, but one thing was better than expected and one thing was worse. So it balances out I guess. My state registration assessment is Thursday and has been causing me all sorts of grief.
Grace had tickets for the recording of Big Fat Quiz of the Year yesterday, which after my shite day in work I wasn't that bothered about tbh, but I went anyway and oh boy oh boy was I glad! I was quite excited after Grace told me that David Mitchell was on it, but then I overheard someone in the queue say that Brooker was on it. We only just managed to get in, but we were filling the production guest seats so we were slap bang in the middle which was brilliant. AND we got free Krispy Kreme doughnuts and bottles of Stella (which is rank but free so still a win). Brooker and Mitchell ended up being on the same team and sat directly opposite us. Seriously, someone needs to slash those two because they're so freaking sweet together. Russel Brand and Jonathan Ross were one of the other teams, which Rob Brydon and Claudia Winkleman making up the other. The only things I remember from the whole thing is the "panic poo" bit and the constant threat of making DM & Brooker dance which I was praying with all my might would happen. But they didn't. :( If someone with MS Paint madskillz wants to make me a Christmas card along those lines it would be gratefully received. So yeah, basically that was the perfect antidote to a shitty day. Me and Grace were wandering up Tottenham Court Road with Burger Kings at 11.45pm on a schoolday after having free beer and doughnuts in the company of 3 really fit & funny blokes and it was one of those LDN IS PERFECT moments, y'know? However, with it being Nigel's birthday and him bringing cake into work yesterday, the whole "step away from the pies" project took a serious kick in the balls. Ooops.
Most importantly - Brooker lives in Clapham. This is an important fact to record.
